Primary (Grade I – V) / Middle School (Grade VI–VIII)

Being affiliated to CBSE, the school follows the CBSE pattern of assessment. The examination from Academic Year 2019-20 and onwards will be conducted as per the Remodelled Periodic Assessment Structure.

The school follows the NCERT books prescribed by CBSE and the curriculum has been mapped out and prepared in adherence to the guidelines of the National Curriculum framework. It seeks to develop 21st century learning and life skills, namely language proficiency, build up leadership and organizational skills, critical thinking and original imagination which in turn will enable the students to become successful global citizens.

1. SCHOLASTIC AREA

Scholastic Assessment All assessments with regard to the academic areas of the students shall be done in marks as well as grades indicated on a 9 point grading scale (A1-E) in the report cards.

FIRST TERM

  • Periodic assessment - Pen and Paper Test of 40 marks – will convert to 10 marks.
  • Subject Enrichment Activities – 5 marks
  • Maintenance of notebooks, curriculum workbooks and regularity in submission of assignments - 5 marks
  • Half Yearly Examination - 80 Marks
  • Cumulative First Term Assessment = 10 + 5 + 5 + 80 = 100

SECOND TERM

Significance of Integrated and Thematic learning

  • Periodic assessment -Pen and Paper Test of 40 marks – will convert to 10.
  • Subject Enrichment Activities – 5marks
  • Maintenance of notebooks, curriculum workbooks and regularity in submission of assignments-5 marks
  • Annual Examination - 80 Marks (Class VI -10% ,class VII-20%,VIII-30% ) of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of Term 2
  • Cumulative Second Term Assessment = 10 + 5 + 5 + 80 = 100

2. CO-SCHOLASTIC AREA

The school will promote co-curricular activities for the holistic development of the students. These activities will be graded on a 5- point grading scale (A - C) for class VI-VIII.

3. DISCIPLINE (ATTENDANCE, SINCERITY, BEHAVIOUR, VALUES)

Discipline significantly impacts career shaping and it helps build character. Sincerity, good behavior and values develop strength and foster unity and co-operation. Therefore, the elements of discipline will be graded on a 3 - point scale (A - C).

MARKING SCHEME

Secondary Level (Grade IX and X)

CBSE Grade IX – X : All Subjects

Internal Assessment will be conducted as per the following marks distribution:


Internal Assessment 20 Marks
Periodical Test (Average of three periodic tests) 10 Marks
Note Book Submission 05 Marks
Subject Enrichment Activities like Listening and Speaking Skills 05 Marks

ENGLISH – IX / X (Language and Literature)

Question Paper format will be as given below:

CBSE Class 9 English (Language and Literature) Question Paper will consist of a total of 11 questions divided into three sections, viz., A, B and C. Section-Wise Weightage will be as follows

Mathematics – IX / X

Examination Pattern is as follows:

This year CBSE class 9 Mathematics question paper will be conducted for 80 marks covering 100% syllabus. The remaining 20 marks are allotted to Internal Assessment (IA) which will be added while calculating the overall grade.

Internal Assessment will comprise of:

  • Average of the marks scored in three periodic tests
  • 5 marks for notebook submission
  • While preparing for the Mathematics exam, students should know the worth of each unit

BSE Class 9 Mathematics Question Paper format is given below:

  • The Maths question paper will comprise of a total of 30 questions divided into four sections, viz., A, B, C and D
  • Section A will contain 6 questions of 1 mark each
  • Section B will contain 6 questions of 2 marks each
  • Section C will contain 10 questions of 3 marks each.
  • Section D will contain 8 questions of 4 marks each
